Taking Mucosal Delivery Platform from Lab to Clinic
Founded in January 2022 from public research (the BioMAP team, a joint University of Tours / INRAE unit), Lovaltech moves fast. In under five years, it has secured over €18M, set up a clinical trial and completed Phase 1. That trial tests LVT-001, the first vaccine built on LVT-NEXUS, our mucosal delivery platform, and serves as its clinical proof of concept. Phase 2 starts in November 2026.
The project's beginning: Initial preclinical trials validate the concept of a nasal vaccine.
Preclinical tests conducted in the laboratory demonstrated the effectiveness of the vaccine candidate, consisting of the Spike protein and the non-mutating nucleoprotein, both in terms of immune response and protection against the original virus and its variants.
Grant of €1.5 million has been allocated by the MESRI (Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation) to the project delivered through the University of Tours.
New preclinical trials on the hamster reference model demonstrate the vaccine's effectiveness in blocking contagiousness and inter-individual transmission.
January 2022: CREATION OF LOVALTECH.
Support from the French Agency for Research on AIDS and Emerging infectious diseases (ANRS-MIE) up to €900,000.
i-Lab 2022 winner, Bpifrance DeepTech label.
France 2030 laureate for €8.4 million enabling the development and production of our vaccine in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment, mandatory for use in Humans in the context of clinical phases.
IMPD regulatory dossier filed with ANSM.
Preclinical regulatory studies completed.
MUCOBOOST clinical trial phase 1/2 begins with Tours University Hospital and ANRS-MIE.
Phase 1 of MUCOBOOST has been completed. The LVT-NEXUS platform and its first vaccine candidate, LVT-001, have demonstrated a favorable safety and tolerability profile.
Phase 2 starts in November.
